Bring your bike or rent one from the nearby town and cycle the famous Rallarvegen "the navvy road" a road built for the construction of the railway line. It starts at the Hardangervidda plateau, runs past the Hardangerjøkulen glacier and goes down to the fjord in Flåm.

Take a stroll around the lake or walk along the famous Rallarvegen. We guaranty some stunning views. The area lies in the western part of Skarvheimen, where the western and eastern weather systems meet. This provides the area with snow from both weather systems, and usually keeps snow conditions excellent throughout the winter. Slightly east of Reinunga lies the Storeskavlen glacier, which keeps the snow cool and stable.
Whether you fancy a stroll around the lake or some serious mountain hiking in the Skarvheimen this is the place to be. Here is where western Norway meets eastern Norway.
Only 800 meters from your doorstep starts the longest zip line in the Nordic countries. Find out more here.
The line ends at Rallarrosa Mountain Farm where you can have refreshments and awesome organic and local mountain cheese :)
Although Myrdal has less northern lights than northern Norway, Months from September to March often prove to give us one or two nights of possible Aurora spotting. For a better chance of spotting them come during the new moon.

The glacier is the 6th largest on the mainland in Norway. Glacier hikes often take place in the majestic icefall Blåisen "the blue ice" from July to September. Guided tours of the glacier can be arranged.
Winter waymarking is done for the principal skiing season at Easter, although some routes are waymarked as early as February. In all, each year, some 7000 km of skiing tracks are waymarked in Norway.
